May Wine Dinner Recap: Wines of the Rhône Valley

Last week, we hosted a wine-paired dinner featuring the wines of the Rhone Valley and it was an incredible experience. The social and inviting atmosphere made everyone feel welcomed and excited to try the wines and food. The five course dinner was perfectly complemented by the wines chosen.

The hors d'oeuvre was paired with a Crémant de Savoie, a Rhone sparkling wine, which was the perfect start to the evening.

The salmon carpaccio was paired with Brunier “Le Pigeoulet” Blanc, a white wine from the southern Rhone, which brought out the subtle flavors of the fish.

For the third course, we enjoyed an arugula, burrata, prosciutto salad with tomatoes and balsamic, paired with Domaine de Durban Gigondas, a red wine from the southern Rhone.

The fourth course was herbed chicken thighs with vinegar coleslaw, paired with Jacouton Saint-Joseph, a red wine from the northern Rhone. The flavors of the wine and food were perfectly balanced, making each bite and sip a delight.

Finally, we enjoyed cannoli with fresh fruit and a choice of dessert wine or coffee. Overall, the combination of the outstanding food, perfectly paired wines, and fantastic company made for an unforgettable evening.
